Sec. 14-42.

Restraint of dogs.

  • All dogs not securely confined indoors shall be securely restrained by means of a collar and chain, pen, fence, or similar physical device, and in such a manner which effectively prevents the dog from going beyond the premises of the owner. Any dog not confined or secured as described in this paragraph shall be considered “unsecured”.
  • Any unsecured dog within the city shall at all times be restrained by a suitable collar and leash not to exceed six feet in length and in the hands of a responsible person capable of controlling the dog in any and all situations.
